Sometimes, even if you didn't meet your goal, learning when it's too much and when you need to step away is a huge success. Shooting for a lower goal so you can also focus on other things sounds like a great plan. It's part of why I take a lower habit pledge, as a reminder that, yes, rest is also necessary and valid.
