I'm still distressed by the new term "Greenhorn" for 120 days. My job is very stop-start and can be all-consuming for periods of time. I can't necessarily write as regularly as I might want to. But I have a novel out from a small press, a story just out in an anthology, a dozen academic pieces in journals and edited collections, and 77 stories on AO3. And I just won a scholarship from the local chapter of Mystery Writers of America. Apprentice didn't seem too bad, but Greenhorn for some reason is really demotivating, considering what I've actually accomplished. But I'm just going to miss the 120 this year so it feels foolhardy to pledge 180 and fail at that, too.
